The Artists of Circle
A great number of people contributed their time and talent to this album, and we at Modern Bard would like to thank all of them...in alphabetical order. Thanks go to.... 3 Pints Gone for responding to Marc Gunn's request with enthusiasm and for their donation of the track Highland Paddy. Bedlam Bards, who provided us with not only their recording of Saint Brendan's Fair Isle, but also gifted us with the skills of Cedric to aid us in preparing our press release about the album. The Bilge Pumps, ardent supporters of Modern Bard, for their contribution of The Dark Lady. The Brobdinagian Bards for their contribution of Lily the Pink. Cantiga, who kindly donated their beautiful recording of Brandle Des Cevaux. The Cheshire Singers for making their CD debut with the contribution of The Boar's Head Carol. Modern Bard Featured Artist Djilia Phralengo for the contribution of the track Primavera. Dogs in Doublets were kind enough to offer several tracks and allow us to choose our favorite, The Pirate Song. E Muzeki for the generous contribution of the beautiful and haunting Unknown Gypsy Dance. Empty Hats, for being kind enough to contribute their track the Night Visitor's Song. Fugli, for contributing more material than we could even use (including some unreleased tracks). We at Modern Bard would like to thank him for his generosity and his understanding. His recording of Greensleeves graces the album. Marc Gunn (and the Dubliner Tabby Cats), without whose tireless efforts Circle would not have been possible. Marc helped the Modern Bard crew take the CD from a concept to a finished product, doing a great deal of the work in between. In addition to all his production efforts, Marc also donated the track, Furagone's Wake. Lynn "Cavalaxis" Hatfield of Digital Carrion for all of her time and effort in the creation and donation of the album art for Circle. Howl-O, for being among the first to respond to our plea for donations of music and for their contribution of Wraggle Taggle Gypsies. To the other members of my group, Marooned, for supporting the project from conception and for agreeing to donate Haul Away Joe. The Merry Wives of Windsor for contributing the Devil and the Knight and responding to Marc Gunn's appeal for more music. The Muses, who were gracious enough to allow us to release their recording of Maiden's Revenge before they did. Queen's Gambit for their ceaseless and unwavering support of this site and of this project. Queen's Gambit has been very helpful in providing materials for the archive and was gracious enough to donate their track Johnny Jump Up. Rillian & the Doxie Chicks for donating the opening track for the CD, Sam's Gone Away and helping us set the pace for the album. The Rogues for their kind donation of Pressed for Time. Having a contribution from a Grammy Nominated band does a great deal to raise the profile of the album. Seelie Court for racing to the studio and recording their powerful rendition of May the Circle Be Unbroken, which is where the CD draws it's name. Three Quarter Ale for their endless enthusiasm for this project and for the contribution of their recording of (It was a) Lover and his Lass". Vash, who agreed to contribute a track the very day he had learned of the existence of Modern Bard. Madam I'm a Darlin Is a wonderful addition to the CD and is sure to delight. There are more folks to thank, those who wanted to contribute but couldn't due to timing, copyright or disc space issues. The people out there who have been spreading the word and drumming up interest in the CD. To each and every one of you, we give our thanks.
