This short, but delightful recording by Boru's Ghost exemplifies why they are a rising star in the Celtic music community able to hold their own with such well known groups as Altan. Of the four tracks on the CD (two instrumental & two with vocals, none of which are actually identified), there are two that truly stand out.

First is "Weille Waille", an adaptation of a traditional tune (and also the same track that can be heard on the "Sounds from the Village of Carlisle CD"). The arrangement for the song is a bit different than some might be used to and it manages to lend the song a contemporary feel while not making it sound modern.

"The Pawn" is truly the standout track on this CD.The song has an almost surreal feel to it as the vocals ebb and flow. An original offering, "the Pawn" highlights all that is great about Boru's Ghost and certainly leaves one wanting more.

Now, this is a Demo and so it may be difficult to obtain. Your best bet would be to email Boru's Ghost and inquire as to a purchase price for this, and their other recordings.
